Why should I Mediate?

  • It is voluntary : The parties agree to meet and with the help of a mediator, craft solutions that work for everyone, solutions that reflect each party’s individual values and unique needs.
  • It is inexpensive : As compared to the costs involved if one chooses the Legal Process.
  • It is confidential : The parties agree that discussions and disclosure are confidential.
  • It is flexible : The parties are involved from the beginning of the process in crafting their own agreement with the help of a skilled mediator.  Review clauses can be built in to the agreement that enables them to re-negotiate certain issues in the future.

Practical experience has shown that settlements created with the full participation of the parties, in face to face negotiations, are more likely to satisfy the need of both parties and be honoured in the future.
